Great for my needs, no times lapse though.

4.0
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Sound, Large Clear LCD
Verdict: This camcorder is great for my needs. The nd filters are really useful. Too bad there is no times lapse functionI should have purchased the Sony Fdrax53 for times lapse. Focusing is slow but a firmware update has helped make some improvements.

disappointed

3.0
Pros: Durable, Great Features
Cons: Bulky
Verdict: Could be a truly great camera but for the appalling image stabisation. Using the "Active" mode reduces the cameras resolution to an unacceptable degree.- better to spend the extra £365 and buy the AX100 instead.

Lots of camera for the money

4.0
Verdict: Great price from 6th Ave. No NY tax. Arrived 2nd day. Love this camera, I'm so glad we went with this over the Canon G30 or Sony NX100. We webcast corporate events and the CX900 really shines in any lighting condition. The 1" chip makes a huge difference in image quality over 1/3" and 1/2" cams.

Great prosumer cam

5.0
Verdict: First of all, I'm a pro videographer doing mostly event work, weddings, bands, plays etc. I wanted something that would have a smaller DOF than my Sony z5u without going into the dslr arena.

Verdict: I now own 3x cx900's.. I record live stage plays and not only do I care about visual quality, but I also emphasize high quality audio.. I use an xlr adapter on one of the cx900's and sync the other in camera mic to the main audio.

Solid performer

5.0
Verdict: Moved to HD 1080 from Std definition with this one, and a good pick it was. HD res. and 5.1 Surround sound has made huge difference. Quality Zeiss optics like my last Sony. I have compared to other HD Camcorders and it is better and has a full 1" CMOS Sensor.

Good camcorder - Lousy hotshoe

5.0
Verdict: It has a brand-dedicated hotshoe mount for the microphone that inhibits the use of non-Sony brands. You current Rhode / Sennheiser etc won't fit ( and the Sony model that does fit isn't as good ) Pretty poor show for a £999 spend ...

Long Life Battery

5.0
Verdict: Battery has over 2 hours of capacity when used with CX-760 & 900 cameras. Because of larger capacity, it takes longer to fully charge on my Travel Charger and longer for the charge status progress indicator to show status.

Almost ideal... almost...

4.0
Verdict: Working with this model camcorder leaves a very good impression. First of all - it's a great picture quality and clarity of the image (using the settings codec XAVC S HD). Wide dynamic range, parallel recording of video in two formats, built-in filters ND, many manual adjustments shooting settings -...
